Before the last day of school, the whole Parent Support Group was invited for a “Thank you” Tea, a social opportunity for the PSG to be together, to mingle with the Director and the Principals, and for the school to show appreciation for the most wonderful work they do all year.
On June 17th, the Parent Support Group (PSG) hosted a breakfast to say “Thank you” to each member of Staff: teachers, administration, all the support staff including all offices and maintenance, even the guards and the snack-bar/lunch crews.
On June 13th, our Kindergarten and EC3/4 classes invited their parents to join them in the Music room to show off their growth in the arts.
CAISL hosted a celebration of the many successes the school has known over the last 25 years under it's current director's leadership.
Our IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) students presented their work on an exhibition between June 7th and 9th.
On Tuesday, June 8th, CAISL's Choirs and Orchestras presented their Spring Concert, and it was one to remember.
CAISL's Class of 2022 graduated on Saturday, June 4th, and we were happy to have families and friends back in the audience for the ceremony.
On May 27th, CAISL's alumna Mariana Matias came to visit and to talk to our High and Middle Schoolers about the European Union.
On May 27th, CAISL's Track & Field teams went to Lisbon, to participate in a Meet with students from other local schools.
On May 31st, in a theater filled with students and parents, High Schoolers were recognized at an awards ceremony for academic achievement in the different subjects as well as leadership, citizenship, service and intellectual curiosity.
On the evenings of May 24th and 25th, Middle School Musical Theater presented "Madagascar Jr.", and the show was a hit between the parents and children in the audience.
On May 19th through 21st, CAISL's Division 3, 4 and 5 students participated in the end of the season tournament, where team work and sportsmanship stood out.
For the first time this year, CAISL's fine arts department came together to organize a joint Induction Ceremony to recognize High School students for their contributions to CAISL's music, drama and art programs.
On May 11 and 12, the High School Drama class presented The Misanthrope, by Molière, but with a twist. The original classic text was brought to a new life in the setting of a modern high school, showing how timeless this theater play is.
Our First 500 program, is a pre-literacy reading challenge for our EC 3/4 and Kindergarten students (and their grown-ups!), where the purpose is to develop the skills that will help little ones when they begin learning to read on their own.
Movie Nights returned to CAISL with a bang! With a full theater, this event was the best attended from all the Parent Support Group (PSG) movie nights. The selected movie was “Encanto” from Disney.
CAISL's Ecolution Club and Parent Support Group (PSG) joined forces to come up with the school's first Upcycling Challenge.
The first in-person student/parent meeting for College Counseling took place in the Art Gallery Early May. It was aimed at families who are considering post-secondary education in the “US, Portugal, and the UK”. It was a full house; over 85 people attended.
Middle School students enjoyed a visit from Captain Vincent Johnson, U. S. Navy Pilot serving as the United States Naval Attaché to Portugal at the United States Embassy in Lisbon.
On Thursday March 10th, over 30 high school students attended a virtual college fair.
CAISL is extremely grateful to Claranet and HP Finance for helping to provide learning equipment to the Afghan National Youth Girls Soccer Team and their families, who have moved to Portugal as refugees.

On February 23rd, Sónia Almeida, CAISL Student Support Services Coordinator, was a guest speaker representing CAISL on the 5th National Forum for Diversity and Inclusion promoted by the “Associação Portuguesa para a Diversidade e Inclusão”.
Our Middle and High School Orchestra students are proud to present this year's Mad Hatter Tea Party Concert.
CAISL students celebrated the Hidden Curriculum traits by wearing a different color each day of the week.
Who doesn´t love a good book? In the week we celebrated Valentine’s day, CAISL 3rd -5th graders created bookmarks describing what they LOVE about books.
7th Grade students have filled the Middle School Atrium with “Rock Cycle” models they’ve made.
After months of hard practice, our Varsity teams are back to games!
Daily, one of the 10 alternating volunteers collects the coffee grounds that would otherwise go to the undifferentiated garbage, and takes them to a compost pile. This initiative has saved kilos of high quality fertilizer going to waste.
EC 3/4 celebrated friends and family this Valentine's day.
Last week, 11th and 12th Graders involved in the CAS Musical Theater student-led initiative presented the show "Mean Girls", and they are to congratulated for their dedication and outstanding performance.
This Saturday, January 29th, our Varsity Girls Volleyball team came to school to play CAISL's first intramurals. Congratulation Varsity Girls Volleyball for your commitment to the team and your sportsmanship!
On January 21st Middle School had the virtual visit of Mr. Artur, a representative of Fruta Feia, an initiative focused on reducing food waste.
Art students then worked together as "architectural firms" and created projects of public utility buildings.
To make ‘library@home’ more exciting during the first week of January, students were invited to play a jeopardy game created by the CAISL library media center where they answered questions about the story, the plot, the characters and the setting.
EC3/4 took inspiration from Martin Luther King's day and shared ideas about peace, social justice and the planet.
On the morning of January 17, 10th grade students from Theater Studies class and English class collaborated on a project to support their understanding of the play, A Streetcar Named Desire.
CAISL had a very special come back this year: the Winter Concert went back on stage to warm up our school community with seasonal music.
Our Middle School students embraced the Holidays spirit and decorated their atrium and classrooms.
This year, the HS and the MS Ecolution Clubs joined efforts with the Parent Support Group (PSG) and created their version of a sustainable Holiday Tree.
At the end of November, MS and HS both had an Assembly to celebrate student success. At the end of both Assemblies, after hearing about individual success in sport and arts, we realized that there is a lot of achievement we didn’t know. On Thanksgiving, that became another reason to feel grateful.
On December 1st, when children were relaxing at home because it was a Holiday, CAISL received the visit of over a dozen of volunteer-elves from our very own Parent Support Group to decorate the school for the season.
The national food drive campaign – Banco Alimentar – took place on the weekend of 27-28 of November and it involved CAISL students, staff, faculty and parents. Collectively, we gathered 3 132 kg of food in a local supermarket.
Today we were privileged to have the NAVEUR Band perform in our Theater.
Last Friday, Mr. Marty's class held a very special celebration, in honor of the class' student authors.
Last week, CAISL hosted the Iberian Model United Nations (IMUN) conference online. The theme of this year's conference was "A World Post Crisis".
Grade 4 students went to their first field trip of the year and visited Dino Parque in Lourinhã.

Our EC 3 and 4 students are exploring Fall and had a great week of learning.
The Middle School student-led club “Serious About Science” did the first experiment of the year this week and it involved chocolate powder!
Grades 7 and 8 students enjoyed a dedicated technology day last Friday. During the day, they learned more about programming, information compression and the internal structure of a home computer.
Over the last couple weeks, we hosted the Elementary and Secondary Open Houses online, and all school Parent Teacher Conferences.
Lower Elementary students took inspiration in shapes, artists and books and created beautiful new artwork that is brightening up our hallways.
On Friday, October 1st, Middle School students took a new approach to the traditional MS Camping Trip.
On Monday, for the first time in a long time, our eighth-grade students were able to gather in the theater for a symposium on immigration.
Grade 5 Orchestra played their first piece together and they sounded beautiful.
Elementary students took their place on the "podium" and proudly collected a certificate and bronze, silver or gold medal as a reward for their effort during the Summer reading challenge.
Sports practices started this week, and students and coaches couldn't be more excited!
The HS Ecolution club is a student led and teacher supervised initiative whose aim is to raise awareness to environmental issues and encourage action, foster communication and sustainable attitudes/choices, through implementation of eco-friendly habits on the CAISL community.
September 1st brought all CAISL students back to classes.
