Description

The Techies Club is an Audio Visual related after school activity in which students work with state of the art equipment and software.

They will learn about lighting, sound and video projection: from the idealization of the sound and light design, the actual physical setup of lights and microphones, the step recording on the lighting board, etc. Depending on the students’ availability, they will be involved in CAISL’s formal and informal events and productions, such as the Middle School musical, the Talent Show and Winter Concert.

In addition to last year's course, The Techies will learn and develop DJ'ing skills and techniques.

They will learn how to sync beats and mix two or more tracks using the fabulous Traktor S8 mixing controller and Traktor Pro software.

They will be invited to be the officials DJ’s for the MS Dance and they will also record a 30 minutes set.

As in any type of job, there is always the less interesting side to it such as equipment maintenance, organizing cables, etc. However monotonous this may be, it is a crucial part of the learning experience and important for any event to be successful.
