CAISL partners with the Sintra Camara (City Hall) annually to provide a Summer School program to teach English and Technology to Sintra public school students entering Grade 5.

The English and Technology course was developed by two CAISL teachers-- Vera Tamen and Miranda Mesquita-- for children whose first language is not English. Students focus their learning on listening and speaking English and, at the same time, increase their vocabulary and develop their grammar. The newly-developed language skills are then applied in Drama, Art, and Technology. Students learn keyboarding skills and how to work with applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and MovieMaker.

The program was designed to teach children in a fun way and in a relaxed environment. Students are assessed to track their individual progress in both English and technology.
