Our client Services

CAISL offers a wide array of services to support our students. Student health forms can be found under the "Health Services" tab below.

Health Services

The CAISL Health Center is staffed by a team of Nurses who provide basic first aid care, make initial medical evaluations and coordinate emergency services, if necessary. The CAISL Health Form needs to be filled out by the family doctor, for all students, within six months before they start school. See the link below for the printable version. The form needs to be filled out in either English or Portuguese.

Lunch Services

CAISL has a professional catering company providing lunches for the students. Each day a hot lunch is available to all students, which is prepared here in CAISL's own kitchen. All lunch menus can be found on the school website. Students in Grades 1 through 12 have a daily choice among a meat, fish, or vegetarian option.

Students in Early Childhood who choose to have a school meal are provided with a healthy choice that we know is popular with young children. However, if it is not a dish that your child will enjoy, we may try to provide an alternative, if requested in advance to the Accounts Office.

Parents may request to be billed quarterly for lunches, thus allowing your child full lunch on a daily basis. Students may also purchase individual tickets so your child can choose which days he/she wishes to eat the full school lunch.

Students in Grades EC3-Grade 5 are provided with a morning "Snack" during the school day. The catering company also runs a “Snack Bar” for students in Grades 6 through 12. The “Snack Bar” serves a variety of sandwiches, fruit and light foods.

Students may also bring a lunch from home, if they wish, and heat it in the microwave ovens or have it refrigerated.

Bus Services

CAISL provides an extensive bus service to most of the metropolitan Lisbon area.  Our bus service includes both large, 50-seater buses serving those areas where a lot of students live in close proximity as well as small 8 and 14 seat vans for students living in more isolated areas. While our bus service is extensive, our buses are not able to accommodate all areas. Be sure to check with the Accounts Office. There is an extra charge for the bus service.

Students are picked up at their door whenever possible. Every effort is to keep the bus ride to or from school less than 45 minutes. While it seems like a long way for a child to ride from Lisbon to CAISL, remember that traffic is flowing in the opposite direction- to Lisbon in the morning when the bus is coming to school and towards Sintra in the afternoon when the bus is going to Lisbon.
All of our buses have individual seat belts and all except the small vans (8 seaters) have adult monitors to ensure the safety of the students. The students that ride the small vans have a bus driver who helps the younger students on and off the bus.

Additionally, there is another Bus Service which leaves campus at 5.00 p.m. with Priority for students EC3-grade 5. Parents may choose which days of the week they would like to use each Schedule (15.50 Vs 17.00), this bus may also be taken by older students and paid for as an "occasional rider" on a space-available basis.

A free Activity Bus is available for students grades 6-12. Therefore, students who participate in organized activities such as sports, music, drama or other school sponsored activities may sign up for this bus which usually leaves at 5:50 p.m. Students must sign up for the bus by 1:00 p.m. on the CAISL moodle site. There is a limited service (students are not dropped off at their homes, but are taken from CAISL and dropped off in groups at pre-determined points, usually at the train stations along the ‘linha’ de Cascais, or in main locations in the Lisbon Area).
