On the 23rd and 25th of October, our juniors and seniors attending Environmental Systems and Societies and Environmental Science had the opportunity to meet António Eloy for a Q&A session about environmental movements and his work as an environmental activist and supporter of renewable energies.
On October 19th, parents of our youngest students gathered in the Art Gallery for a presentation bout how young children learn to read. They heard about the various skills involved in learning to read, and how the curriculum develops student proficiency in combining these skills for our children to become successful readers.
On the weekend of October 12th through 14th, CAISL hosted the Iberian Varsity Volleyball tournament, with local and international teams participating.
The Parent Support Group (PSG) hosted another successful movie night on October 19th, this time to show the movie 'Star Wars IV – A New Hope'.
On October 20th, CAISL had the opportunity to meet some special babies and toddlers alongside their favorite adults for storytime!
On Wednesday, September 26, a group of 12 students from the High School Community Service including juniors and seniors, took part in one more visit to Lar das Fisgas, CAISL´s long-term Community Service partner.
The traditional Parent Support Group (PSG) Welcome Back Picnic took place last Saturday, September 22nd, and brought together a crowd of new and returning families for an afternoon of fun games, delicious grilled burgers and hot-dogs, and a chance to mingle with old and new friends.
CAISL Elementary students gathered in the theater on Friday, September 14th, for the recognition of all the students, teachers and parents who participated in the 2018 CAISL Reading World Cup summer event.
The May 2018 IB results are in and we would like to congratulate our students for their effort and commitment that led to such excellent results.
Last Wednesday, June 20th, Early Childhood and Kindergarten parents were invited to the Informances, a musical informal performance that showcases these young children's growth.
Little League Baseball and Softball had a record number of participants this year, making this a fun-filled Summer sports season.
The 2018 Track & Field season was filled with much success, although poor weather conditions contributed to various challenges.
On Saturday, June 2nd, CAISL's Senior Class 44 members took the stage for the last time as students.
CAISL's annual Fine Arts Festival enthralled the crowds once again this past Saturday, May 26th.
On the afternoon of the half-day, April 18th, 11 members of our parent community graciously gave up some of their valuable time to come and talk about their careers and educational paths to over 20 CAISL high school students.
The National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony took place on April 17th, welcoming new students to this organization.
On April 27th, HS Drama presented an American classic, The Crucible.
On March 19th parents got together to share a bit of their culture for the 2008 edition of "Taste of CAISL". For this delicious event, each family brought one or two traditional dishes from their home countries in small portions and the students' job was to pick a few to taste, challenging their taste buds, and learning about these countries.
Proud 1st and 2nd graders took to the stage on Tuesday, March 20th, to perform their musical finale for our 14th annual CAISL Hooked on Books event.
CAISL participated on the First LEGO League National Championship that took place in the Instituto Superior Tecnico (Tagus Park) on March 24th 2018.
The 12th annual Junior Model United Nations (JMUN) was CAISL's biggest ever to this day.
On March 6th, CAISL hosted two of the highlight events of the year: the IB Art Exhibition Opening and the Tri-M Music Honor Society Induction Ceremony.
Our Cross Country teams had their most successful meet to date.
On Friday, February 23rd, Middle School Musical Theater presented The Little Mermaid Jr. to a completely full theater.
Between February 9th and 11th, CAISL hosted its first Iberian Basketball Tournament for Varsity Boys and Girls teams.
Spirit week took place between February 5th and 9th, with Elementary and Secondary students "dressing up" for the different theme days.
Safer Internet Day is a global event that focuses on making the internet safe for everyone, particularly our youngest users. On February 6, visitors from Microsoft, Portugal, did a special presentation to students in Grades 3-5 and their parents, to Middle School and to High School Students.
In 2018 CAISL sent 21 students off to The Netherlands to participate in the 50th anniversary of The Hague International Model United Nations.
Every year, the CAISL middle school students embark on an interdisciplinary unit that challenges the students in a variety of cross-curricular activities. The unit provides an opportunity for all three grades (6th, 7th and 8th) to work together on collaborative tasks.
On February 2nd, we celebrated our Annual Mad Hatter Tea Party Concert.

CAISL is a student-centered educational community in which we challenge ourselves and each other to do our best and to make positive contributions to our diverse and ever-changing world.
