On the 29th of March, students from ESS Year 1 and Environmental Science visited Laboratório Marítimo da Guia. Laboratório Marítimo da Guia is an investigation facility whose main focus is to study the impacts of climate change on marine biota. Students met with one of their leading investigators, Tiago Repolho, and visited several small labs where live organisms were being studied, including different species of fish and cephalopods. In addition, students had the opportunity to drive an underwater ROV drone offered to the lab by National Geographic, asked questions to several investigators that work in the lab to be more familiar with their work, and the observed impacts of climate change on behavior and physiology of marine life forms.
