The 23rd edition of IMUN (Iberian Model United Nations) took place between 9 and 11 of November, with the participation of almost 400 students from 22 schools from 10 different countries. This year, CAISL welcomed schools from Spain, Romania, Ireland, Turkey, Zimbabwe, Germany, Kenya, Italy, Norway and Portugal.
This year's keynote speaker was Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Portugal. In his speech, he talked about the environment, migrations and education, saying that the latter
is the best investment a government can do and the corner stone for a fairer society. He also reminded the students that each one of them can make a difference in promoting peace, human rights and a sustainable world development.
After the keynote speech, lobbying and meetings went on between members of the General Assembly, Special Conference and Security Council. Among other themes, students-delegates debated about limiting the availability of light weapons as a measure of reducing urban violence; the issue of transparency in the arms trade; the question of the increasing use of artificial intelligence in the traditional job market; strategies towards regulating international tax havens and the Question of DPRK Defiance of the Missile Ban.
