The Welcome Back Picnic is a yearly event organized by the CAISL parents. This event aims to bring families together and welcome them to the new school year, taking advantage of the wonderful facilities and the contribution of the many volunteers.
This year, the event was run by the Parent Support Group (PSG) who tried to enhance meeting opportunities and provide the best experience to all the participants. There were games of twister, apple bobbing, huck-a-duck, lucky dip, ring toss and tin can toss with the most desired small prizes for the children. There was also a scavenger hunt and an art station, in addition to all the athletics' activities that included soccer, basketball and softball and t-ball.
Besides the traditional burger and hot-dog barbecue, some volunteers brought a traditional dessert from their home country to be sold by the community service, raising over 300 Euros. With the sun shining and a warm afternoon ahead, treats like fresh fruit juices and ice cream were the "icing on top of the cake".
This event could not be done without the leadership of the PSG and the contribution of all the parents and staff involved, nor without the presence of all our guests. Thank you all! Together, you turned this into a truly memorable event.
