OPENING HOURS

The Library Media Center is open during the school day from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to use the Media Center during these hours - before school, during breaks and lunch, and after school. Passes are required during class periods.

Parents are also welcome to visit the Media Center during the school day.

CIRCULATION POLICY

Books are always due on Fridays - "Two weeks from this Friday." Due dates are written in the back of the book, when it is checked out, and it is possible to see a list of your checked out items by logging into the OPAC and clicking on “My Info.” It is always possible to renew materials.

Students are held responsible for the safe return of all materials they have borrowed. If materials are damaged or lost the student will be charged replacement costs.

Parents are welcome to borrow materials from the Media Center for reading with their children or for their own reading pleasure. Parents simply need to arrange for a "library number" with one of the Media Center staff and then check items out with a staff person.

We also have a Community Library where Parents and Teachers can exchange books (outside the OPAC system). The Community Library is housed in the Story Corner in the Main Library.

CIRCULATION FOR STAFF

All staff members of the CAISL may check out books, magazines and audio-visual materials. Further information may be obtained by speaking to the Media Center staff or by consulting the Teacher's Manual issued at the beginning of the year.
