Summer Reading Challenge 2026
As part of our Family Summer Reading Challenge, CAISL is excited to feature the work of 2026 Newbery Medal winner Renée Watson, who will be visiting our school during the last week of September.
This summer, families are invited to:
- Choose a book
- Write a note to Renée
- Meet the author in September for a celebration and book signing
To support this initiative, the school has purchased two of Renée Watson’s books:
- Elementary: Ways to Make Sunshine
- Secondary: All the Blues in the Sky
We are pleased to offer a complimentary copy to the first 100 parents who visit the Library this Thursday or on one of the upcoming Wednesdays, when the Main Library will be open to the school community.
We hope many of our families will take part in this special reading opportunity, and we look forward to welcoming Renée Watson to CAISL in September.

Every year, the CAISL library prepares a summer reading program filled with activities and ideas to encourage CAISL students to enjoy reading all summer long. Check this page for this year's challenges.
LIBRARY SUMMER SCHEDULE
Wednesdays from July 1 to August 19
9am to 12pm & 1pm to 4pm
This summer all individuals in the CAISL community will have a chance to participate in a Summer Challenge. Those who choose to participate can earn a bronze, silver, or gold medal by completing the challenge.
