Continue our Legacy
We’re still growing, thanks to you
Founded in 1956 as St. Columban’s by Anthony A. McKenna, CAISL was built on a vision of providing a well-rounded American education enriched by Portugal’s culture and a broader European context. For nearly 70 years, generations of students, families, educators, and alumni have carried that vision forward, helping shape the school CAISL is today.
As a non-profit institution, CAISL is committed to keeping tuition as accessible as possible while continually investing in the programs, spaces, and opportunities that define our learning experience. Tuition supports the day-to-day operation of the school, while the growth and development of our campus and initiatives are made possible through the generosity of individuals, families, alumni, and corporate partners.
Giving to CAISL is more than a financial contribution—it is an investment in our students, our community, and our shared future. Whether through donations, alumni engagement, partnerships, or simply staying connected, every form of involvement helps ensure that CAISL continues to thrive for generations to come.

Alumni Engagement
CAISL is proud of its alumni community spread across the world, and of the strong connections alumni continue to build with one another and with the school. Alumni are always welcome back on campus, and we regularly host events that bring our community together.
Many of our graduates also return to CAISL to share their university and professional experiences, inspiring current students and helping them envision their own paths beyond CAISL.
Stay connected through our alumni network and receive updates about events and opportunities. To join, please email alumni@caislisbon.org
Support School Improvement
For over 70 years, CAISL has continued to innovate in pursuit of the best possible education for its students—and we are committed to carrying that vision forward for the next 70 years and beyond. Support from individuals and corporate partners is essential to help us advance our mission.
Campus improvements are already underway, and with continued support we can further enhance our laboratories, sports facilities, and shared spaces that foster learning, collaboration, and community.
