Grade 11 Collaborative Science Project Visits Lisbon Zoo

On March 3rd, Grade 11 students visited Lisbon Zoo for their Collaborative Science Project, observing wildlife, collecting data, and exploring conservation efforts. The trip provided hands-on learning, teamwork, and a memorable day of science and adventure.

Second Graders Share Their Toy Creations with Kindergarten

Last week, Second Graders shared the toys they had created with Kindergarten students. The younger students explored the toys, asked questions, and learned directly from the creators, making it a fun and interactive cross-grade experience.

A Musical Morning in Early Childhood

Last Friday, our Early Childhood students enjoyed a musical visit from Elementary Principal. Inspired by the animals the students had drawn, the songs helped them learn new vocabulary in a fun and creative way, making language learning joyful and memorable.

Learning About the Water Cycle Through Drama

Last Friday, our Kindergarten students visited the Middle School, where Grade 6 students brought the water cycle to life through a creative drama presentation. Using storytelling, props, and acting, the sixth graders made science fun and engaging, while also taking on leadership roles and mentoring their younger peers.

Earlier today, EC3 students enjoyed an outdoor learning experience where they planted lettuces and explored nature through hands-on activities. The students had a wonderful time, and special thanks go to Mr. Rocha for his support. 🌱

CAISL Talent Show Lights Up the Stage

Last Friday’s Talent Show brought our theater to life with outstanding performances in singing, dancing, and instrumental music. Hosted by two 10th graders and supported by our art teachers, the event showcased students’ focus, creativity, and talent, while families joined in celebrating an unforgettable evening. Yesterday, we welcomed Mary Ehrenworth from the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University for a parent session on AI in education. Families of students in Grades 3–12 engaged in a meaningful discussion about how AI is being thoughtfully integrated into learning.

Grade 7 students investigated photosynthesis beside a cork oak tree, using scientific models to understand how matter transforms and supports plant growth, bringing classroom science into a real-world setting.

A Valentine’s Tradition: Lenços dos Amigos

EC4 celebrated Valentine’s Day and friendship by decorating handkerchiefs inspired by the traditional “Lenços dos Namorados”. They used bright colors, hearts, flowers, birds, and keys, added personal phrases, and then exchanged them with classmates. A fun way to share a beautiful Portuguese tradition!
