Athletics

Championing Sportsmanship

At CAISL, athletics extend well beyond Physical Education classes. Our Athletics program is rooted in team sports and is designed to build commitment, camaraderie, and a lifelong love of physical activity. We believe athletics should be inclusive and encouraging, and any student who wishes to join an after-school team—and is willing to show effort and sportsmanship—is welcomed and supported.

From Kindergarten through Grade 3, after-school athletics focus on learning the fundamentals of soccer and basketball in a fun, supportive, and non-competitive environment. Led by CAISL coaches and teachers, these programs help children develop skills, confidence, and teamwork while discovering the joy of playing and being active.

CAISL Athletics Goals

To enjoy growing as an athlete and promote friendships

To encourage students to prepare/participate at their highest level of ability

To respect opponents, coaches and officials

To expose students to a healthy competitive environment

To encourage multicultural experiences

To ensure student safety and well-being

To support the mission and philosophy of CAISL

Building on this early introduction to sports, students in Grade 4 and above have the opportunity to participate in competitive athletics, representing CAISL in games and tournaments with other local international schools. CAISL offers both boys’ and girls’ teams in soccer, basketball, volleyball, and baseball, giving students multiple opportunities to train, compete, and grow as teammates.

At the High School level, varsity teams compete in local leagues and tournaments and also travel to competitions across Europe, offering students the experience of representing their school internationally. CAISL also offers Cross Country and Track & Field, and Varsity Swimming seasons.

At CAISL, we believe that every student who wishes to play on a team—and who commits to practices, games, and sportsmanlike behavior—deserves the opportunity to do so, regardless of skill level. Athletics at CAISL is about participation, growth, and belonging.

The mission of the CAISL Athletics program is to promote broad student participation, develop individual athletic abilities, and foster teamwork, tactical understanding, physical fitness, and sportsmanship. Through participation in interschool athletics, students continue to build the skills and mindset needed to become proactive world citizens and to maintain positive, lifelong habits.
