Welcome Barbeque - What a Memorable Come Back

Welcome Barbeque - What a Memorable Come Back
Mariana Geraldes

After a three-year hiatus, the Parent Support Group (PSG) was able to bring back the Welcome Barbeque, a big family event gathering parents, students, staff and alumni. It took place on September 17th under a sunny, bright day and many people were able to come. In addition to food and drink, there were a multitude of games participants could join such as corn hole, spike ball and even foosball. New this year was the successful “cake walk” – offering the chance to win a sticker, or a delicious cupcake.

Also to note, was the Community Service fundraising that was able to gather over 400 Euros for Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro, and the sponsorship of Delta that provided all the coffee for free.

It was heartwarming to see such community spirit, old friends meet, so many smiles, and newcomers join in as if they had been part of CAISL forever! All the volunteers deserve a huge thank you – overall there were over 140 people lending a hand, with a special highlight going to the unstoppable PSG members who ran around the whole day, making sure people had the best experience, enough food, and plenty of fun! What a memorable come back!
