The Way of Democracy

Eight grade 11 and 10 students attended the second talk in the FLAD organized series “Democracy, The Way Ahead” in Lisbon on February 15. The students, all Model United Nations enthusiasts and mostly from Mr Andrews’ IB History class, were enthusiastic in their response to Broooking's Institute Constanze Stelzenmüller, German international relations analyst, policy and law scholar, and journalist, fascinating talk on Russia’s war on Ukraine and the rise of China. Many hands went up for the Q&A session and two of our students asked meaningful questions, upon which Ms Stelzenmüller complemented them. As we boarded the bus back to CAISL one student commented that he had never experienced such an “intellectual” environment.
