Our elementary students received a special treat this week. On May 10th, EC3 through Grade 5 students went to our theater to see the play “Tejo por um Fio”, presented by guest artist Sofia Vieira.
With the help of a colorful set, the play included origami paper shapes that were made as the play went on. Students watched attentively as the story of a boy who played at the Tejo river developed. The play called attention to the issues of water pollution and how important it is to keep our waters clean. At the end of the play, students enthusiastically raised their hands to ask questions about what they’d seen, revealing how attentive they were during the show. What a great way to learn!
