JMUN and the Environment

On March 30th, CAISL hosted the 18th Junior Model United Nations (JMUN) conference under "The Environment" theme. After the opening with the guest keynote speaker from ZERO, Ms. Susana Fonseca, student delegates split into their debate rooms to debate the question of promoting sustainable consumerism and the question of promoting initiatives to address climate change. All Middle School students were involved as delegates, together with students from other international schools. Our Grade 5 students also had the opportunity to participate as press, and some of our High School students chaired the debates. This event is a great opportunity for Middle School students to enhance their public speaking skills, while learning about the different countries perspectives on current issues. All participants can be proud of a fruitful debate day!
