This Wednesday, CAISL hosted the 19th Annual JMUN Conference. This is the oldest long-standing JMUN in the Iberian Peninsula. Seven different international schools participated in this conference and CAISL students from 5th Grade (Press), MS Delegates, and HS (Chairs). This year’s theme was Human Rights, and the agenda items were making education accessible to all and protecting the rights of refugees. CAISL parent, Mitra Modaressi a Regional Project Manager for the Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE) at UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub, gave the opening keynote address and urged students to believe that change begins with individuals. 27 resolutions identifying what can be done to address these issues were passed. 11th Grade student, Joana M., the Secretary General summed up the success of the conference in her closing speech identifying enthusiastic debating and a general sense of positivity.
