CAISL recently held the High School Student Council elections. Mr. Andrews, shared the importance of this moment in our school life:
The High School has recently been buzzing with excitement regarding the Student Council elections the past ten days or so. Nominations for HS Student Council (HSSC) occurred September 5, speeches on September 8 and voting the next week. This year we had 28 students vying for spots; an unprecedented five seniors competed for the Presidency. The five Presidential candidates delivered dynamic, well structured, convincing speeches to the entire high school in the theater and campaign posters were abundant.
The HSSC comprises one President (must be a senior) and three Representative from each grade level. The mission, as stated in the HSSC Constitution, is “The representation of the student body’s voice before the administration, The improvement of student life from the students’ perspective, and the promotion of school spirit and unity among the student body.” A great group of students, intent on making CAISL even a better place, have been elected by their peers and are looking forward to working with their constituents this new school year!
