Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at CAISL

CAISL marked Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a full day of learning and service. Students across divisions participated in lessons that raised awareness about Dr. King, the Civil Rights Movement, and the cultural impact of that period in history.

Elementary students learned about Dr. King and the values he stood for, while second graders explored his life and legacy in more detail. Secondary students examined the historical roots of music, such as blues and rock, participated in a morning relay to learn more about this era, and attended a science session highlighting great discoveries of the time.

By the end of the day, all Low Elementary students came together to sing a birthday song dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr.

In the afternoon, staff members joined in acts of service, organizing a winter coat drive, sorting baby supplies, organizing the lost and found, and helping tidy both the campus and the streets of Linhó. We are deeply grateful to the CAISL community for joining this celebration of Dr. King’s legacy and for generously contributing used coats and essential items for babies. Your participation, care, and support truly made the day meaningful and impactful for everyone involved.

The day reflected CAISL’s strong sense of community and honored Dr. King’s legacy through learning, teamwork, and service.
