Grade 5: And the independent variable is…?

CAISL’s Outdoor Learning Program explores life sciences with our students, and understanding the manipulation and importance of dependent, independent, and controlled variables was one of this school year’s goals. By sowing common beans under varying conditions, proposing hypotheses, and developing procedures, students begin to develop a scientific perspective on the world around them.
