Grade 10 dives into A Streetcar Named Desire

Grade 10 dives into A Streetcar Named Desire

On the morning of January 17, 10th grade students from Theater Studies class and English class collaborated on a project to support their understanding of the play, A Streetcar Named Desire. Students were engaged in a variety of areas: performance, directing, and lighting. Tennessee Williams is known for his use of stage and lighting to convey underlying themes during his plays, and his use of light in A Streetcar Named Desire is no different. 10th grade students had to reflect on the following questions and create a lighting design to pre-staged scenes.
Does light have any affiliations to certain characters in A Streetcar Named Desire?
What is a motif? Which motifs appear and in which moments of the play?
