Developing Leadership and Collaboration

Developing Leadership and Collaboration

For the next month, Middle School students are working on developing their social skills in advisory.

This unit began with a leadership/teamwork activity were groups of students tried to build the tallest spaghetti tower. The tallest tower was 58 cm by Emma, Francisco and Luca, but the real purpose of the activity was to analyze the social interactions such as who adopted a leadership role? Were everybody’s ideas listened to? And how did each individual contribute to the group? A lot of interesting discussions followed the fun of trying to make a tower that didn’t fall over!
