To honor CAISL's Director on the occasion of her retirement, CAISL hosted a celebration of the many successes the school has known over the last 25 years of her leadership. The ceremony included heartfelt speeches from the current senior management team and board of trustees, but also from current and former CAISL parents, who expressed their gratitude. There was still time for a surprise, when Mr. de Mello, President of the Board of Trustees, announced the naming of CAISL's theater after Ms. Curtis. Highlighting the event were two musical moments: Grade 4 played two marimba pieces that started the celebration on a joyful note, and later took the stage again as a choir, joined by the Orchestra and Middle School soloists, to sing "When the Lights All Shine", making for a beautiful closure of the ceremony. The celebration ended with a standing ovation to Ms. Blannie Curtis, as former and current members of staff, parents, alumni and students present in the audience showed their warm regard for the Director and her achievements.
