This Wednesday the 18th CAISL celebrated the Chinese New Year, and shared aspects of this important cultural event with all students. Pre-schoolers got to enjoy some story telling by one of our CAISL mothers, who read in Chinese and was aided by a translator. They also got to enjoy a paper dragon parade, with our 4th graders dancing underneath each dragon. Secondary students also experienced this day with a lunch time sharing of traditional foods, such as dumplings and sprig rolls, and also got the chance to do some activities like making their Chinese new year paper lantern or cooking their own spring roll. The three Grade 4 dragons also showed by surprise at the middle school atrium, and danced around the crowd of students there. Thank you to all parents who helped cooking and story telling, making this a very special event.
