At CAISL, we believe that language is a powerful bridge between cultures, and this year’s Mother Tongue Day was a vibrant celebration of linguistic diversity! One of the highlights was a special visit from Ana Ventura, a talented book writer and illustrator, who presented her book "O Menino Que Gritou Para Dentro". Her storytelling captivated students, inspiring them to explore language and emotions in a unique way. Throughout the school, creativity was on full display.
Students designed flags, international symbols, and words in multiple languages, creating a colorful showcase of global unity. In a heartwarming display of community spirit, High School students read stories to Lower Elementary students, fostering a love for reading and storytelling across generations.
The celebration extended beyond language arts—some Secondary students even incorporated Mother Tongue Day into geometry.
Mother Tongue Day was a beautiful reminder of the richness that different languages bring to our school community. Through storytelling, art, and creative expression, our students celebrated their cultural roots while embracing the multiplicity of nationalities around them.
