CAISL Physics Team Wins National MEDEA Project Competition

CAISL Physics Team Wins National MEDEA Project Competition

It’s only the second week of the academic year, and our CAISL Physics students have already received national recognition!

The “Watts-Happening?” team, composed of second-year CAISL Physics students, earned 1st place in the MEDEA Project competition, which challenged students from 25 different schools across Portugal to apply physics to real-world energy problems.

This year, our students studied the low-frequency electromagnetic fields created by the transformer at the entrance of CAISL. They discovered that the measured values posed no health concerns (phew!), and, in the process, got to explore scientific models in a real life context.

Congratulations Sofia, Tomás, Misha, KK and Ms Briosa on this achievement. We are incredibly proud of your curiosity, teamwork, and creativity.
