CAISL Celebrates the Connection Between Math and Art Through the DESMOS Art Contest

For the past three years, Gui R. (Class of 2025) has inspired students to explore the intersection of math and art through the use of the DESMOS graphing calculator. His passion for this unique blend began with his first submission to the International DESMOS Art Contest three years ago. Since then, Gui has gone on to teach both students and teachers how to use DESMOS for artistic expression—efforts that contributed to CAISL celebrating three international winners in 2025.

This year, CAISL hosted its 2nd Annual DESMOS Art Contest, awarding a €50 snack bar gift certificate to the winners in both the Middle School and High School categories. Congratulations to Joca (Grade 12) and Matviy (Grade 8) on their impressive creations!

A heartfelt thank you to Gui R. for bringing his passion for both math and art to the CAISL community and for inspiring others to do the same.
