With their scientific endeavor cut short by a massive strike in Belgium, the CAISL delegation at ScienceExpo.Be had to condense all their explanations, questions, friendships, and science into a single day.
The work began early, and by 10 a.m., our stand was fully set up and bustling with visitors. Our first guest was Ms. Luísa Dutra, Deputy Coordinator for Portuguese Language and Culture in Belgium, representing the Portuguese Embassy. Many more students, parents, and teachers followed, providing CAISL students with the opportunity to explore other stands, where real science was on display.
We discovered fascinating innovations—making chocolate with caterpillar protein, charging satellites with lasers, and analyzing solar explosions with a homemade device. Simply magical!
Later in the day, it was time for the ‘Cultural Evening,’ where each delegation took the stage in a packed theater to share insights about their country, Sintra, their scientific projects, and their school.
Long live science!
