CAISL Alumnus Grows Greener Futures

CAISL Alumnus Grows Greener Futures

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming back Rogério Boettger, a proud member of the Class of 2009. After graduating, Rogério pursued his passion for storytelling by earning a degree in Film Studies at the University of California, Davis. For over a decade, he worked as an assistant director and director at Globo — the largest broadcasting company in Latin America and one of the leading media powerhouses in the world.

Becoming a parent sparked a major shift in Rogério’s priorities. Deeply concerned about the quality of food he was providing for his children, he decided to take a new direction—one that aligned with his values and his growing interest in sustainability.

That decision led to the creation of Terraleaf Microgreens, a Portugal-based company that grows and sells EU-certified organic microgreens, including broccoli, sunflower, and radish. Terraleaf now supplies individuals, businesses, and schools in the Sintra region, promoting healthy eating and local agriculture through fresh, environmentally conscious produce.

It was inspiring to hear Rogério share his journey and the passion behind his work. We’re proud to celebrate the diverse paths our alumni take—and how they continue to make a positive impact in their communities.
