This week High School Art and Film students have been working with our artist-in-resident, Andrew Harrison. The project, Layered Cities, empowers students to think about social justice related to historical monuments in Lisbon. CAISL hosted two field trips this week with our artists. On Tuesday, Grade 12 Advanced Art students visited Casa Carlucci’s Art in the Embassies collection, guided by Ms. Moran, focusing on American and Portuguese artists. Students met with United States Ambassador, Ambassador Levine, to ask questions about the collection of diverse art. On Wednesday, High School Art and Film students united at the Discoveries Monument and Campo das Cebolas in Lisbon to create short films and sketches to tell a new story. Thank you to Ambassador Levine, the United States Embassy, and Mr. Harrison for creating thought provoking experiences for CAISL students.
