Advanced Art goes Printmaking

Mr. Hawke´s Advanced Art and IB Art Year 2 class spent last Saturday engaged in a workshop to learn the etching printmaking technique at the atelier of Mary St. George in Sintra.  Students learned the steps of preparing, drawing, and etching the plate in acid, then printing the metal plate various times with the press. 

Students raved about the effects achieved as well as the cozy atmosphere of the studio in the Sintra mountains.
