International Fest 2025
May 10th 2-5PM
The International Fest 2025 is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible diversity of our community, foster cultural understanding, and create a vibrant, family-friendly event that brings us all together.
We are proud to have 59 nationalities within our student body, along with a few additional nationalities represented by parents. To make this event a success, we aim to have at least 25% of these nationalities participate, which translates to a minimum of 14 nationalities. If we do not have 14 nationalities signed up by the end of February, the event will unfortunately be canceled. Therefore, we encourage you to represent your nationality, sign up early, and join the celebration!
Guidelines
If you are unable to represent a nationality but would like to volunteer to assist with setup, event coordination, or cleanup, please contact psg@caislisbon.org.
Participation Requirements
Nationalities (represented by one or more families) are expected to commit to the following:
1. Decorating a Space in the Gym
- Spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Each nationality must decorate at least one table with items representing their country. You may include flags, games, cultural materials, traditional outfits, posters, and other elements that showcase your culture.
- If you would like to display a flag but do not have one, please contact community.relations@caislisbon.org to check if the school has one available.
- Spaces will be assigned upon sign-up. Families will receive a confirmation email with details about their booth location by March 21st.
2. Footwear Requirements
- Since this year’s event will be held in the gym, all participants must wear tennis shoes.
3. Food Preparation
- Food cannot be prepared or kept warm on-site, as there will be no electrical outlets available.
- You may bring pre-prepared food that does not require heating.
- All food items must be clearly labeled, especially if they contain common allergens such as dairy or gluten.
- CAISL has a strict “no nuts” policy, so no food containing nuts is permitted.
4. Drinks
- The PSG will be selling beverages, including coffee and tea.
- If there are drinks that are culturally important to your nationality and you would like to offer a small tasting sample, you may do so. However, full-sized drink portions may not be distributed.
5. Auction Item or Basket
- Each nationality is encouraged (but not required) to prepare a basket or cultural item for auction.
- The item does not need to be expensive but should be culturally significant, desirable, and something not readily available in Portugal.
- Auction items must be ready for display during the week of April 21st, immediately following Spring Break.
- Proceeds from the auction will help cover PSG event costs.
6. Entertainment and Media
- Entertainment (e.g., performances or videos) can be part of your nationality’s cultural display.
- Performance length: 5–7 minutes.
- Video length: 1-minute maximum.
- Families must inform the PSG about any planned entertainment and any technical or equipment requirements by April 4th.
- By April 28th, all entertainment (performances and videos) must be finalized. No additions can be made after this date.
7. Safety Regulations
- Pyrotechnics, smoke torches, and any items that could compromise safety are strictly prohibited.
8. Shared Booths
- There cannot be multiple booths representing the same nationality. Families from the same country must collaborate to create a shared booth.
- Smaller-represented countries may join together to share a space, especially if they are from the same region.
9. Sign-Up Process
- To sign up, fill out this form.
- The deadline for sign-ups is February 28th at midnight.
