Not even a rainy Saturday could ruin the first CAISL Western Barbecue! A mix of the traditional Welcome Back Picnic and the Western Party, this event promised a lot of fun for all family members. The afternoon started with western themed games, including cornhole, aiming games, jumping ropes, hula-hoops and even a Lego table. Playing some games was definitely a good warm up for what came next: with the help of Ms. Leslie and Ms. Adams, both parents and students had a go at some country dances and did a great job learning the choreographies. There was still time for some Karaoke songs and softball games, and even to meet two very special guests: Sebastião and Julieta, a donkey and a pony, who brought a smile to all children's (and adults') faces. All these activities certainly worked up an appetite on our cowboys and cowgirls, who enjoyed delicious treats such as burgers, hot-dogs, ice cream and popcorn, and a display of baked goods brought by our community service students.
Thank you to our Parent Support Group (PSG) for organizing this event and to all parent, faculty and staff volunteers.
