Feedback from the CAISL Community
CAISL is accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. As part of continuing accreditation, schools must undertake a self-study every 7 years and then be evaluated by a team from MSA. CAISL had their team visit early in the 2021-2022 school year.
In 2020-2021, in preparation for the site visit on 2021-2022, the CAISL Staff did a “self-study,” the results of which will form the basis of the MSA evaluation visit.
A major part of this analysis is getting the feedback from CAISL Parents, from Students (3rd grade and older), and from all Staff.
MSA provided the questions and the survey was launched with the CAISL community in October. A huge “thank you” to every member of the CAISL community who responded to the survey.
The strongly positive results confirm what those of us at CAISL already know—we have a positive and united community committed to supporting each other and working together to both continue our good work and to strive to make CAISL even better.
The statistical results are shown below and the narrative responses are available in the parent portal.MSA has established twelve sets of Standards which schools must analyze and for which CAISL must provide evidence of success.
The twelve Standards are
- Mission
- Governance and Leadership
- School Improvement Planning
- Finances
- Facilities
- Organization & Staff
- Health & Safety
- Educational Programs
- Assessment & Evidence of Student Learning
- Student Services
- Student Life & Student Activities
- Information Resources
For each of the twelve Standards, respondents were asked to say whether the school “meets” or “does not meet” that Standard. As you can see in the Graph 1, each group judged that CAISL “meets” each of the Standards and in most cases over by over 97% agreement. The lowest rating was 93% saying CAISL “meets.”
Graph 1 - Summary of CAISL Adherence to Standards
Within each Standard are “Indicators” which identify the elements being assessed as part of the survey.
The graphs below show the ratings the CAISL community constituents’ gave for each Indicator using the choices of “exceeds”, “meets”, “partially meets” or “does not meet.” for each one.
