Lunch Services

CAISL offers a variety of food options. Our lunch service, catered by a professional company called Go Natural (learn more about it here),  provides full lunches daily with meat, fish, and vegetarian options.   The menu and the nutritional values are on the web site. We also have a Snack Bar serving sandwiches, quiches, pastries, coffee, juices, and other types of foods. This Snack Bar is open from 8:00 to 16:45 and is available not only to older students but also to parents.

Students who want school lunch some days and home lunch on others can buy Individual Lunch Tickets to use on the days they want school lunch.

Early Childhood 3 and 4 Year Olds Through Grade 2

Students from Early Childhood and Grades 1 & 2 may bring lunch from home or may eat a school lunch. Each day the school meal that appears on the menu is a healthy choice that we know is popular with young children. However, if it is not a dish that your child will eat happily, there are two alternative dishes available. Children are closely supervised during lunch to ensure that they eat well and receive assistance if necessary.

Each morning the children are provided with a light snack in school. Parents may, if they wish, provide a further snack for their child to eat during the afternoon.

Grades 3 Through 5

The menu for the month can be found on the school web site and is posted one month in advance. Daily, the selection will consist of a meat dish, a fish dish, and a vegetarian dish.

Bus Services

CAISL runs a bus service which covers most of the greater Lisbon area. However, there are some areas where it is not possible to provide service so please check with the Accounts Office (accounts@caislisbon.org) to ensure there is service in your area.

Every attempt is made to pick up students through Grade 2 at their doors. Students Grades 3 and up are asked to walk to a convenient bus pick-up point when several families live near each other.

Check the fee schedule to learn about costs

There is also a "Flex" bus which leaves campus at 5.00 p.m. for students EC3-Grade 5 who choose to participate in extra-curricular activities. Parents may choose which days of the week they would like to use the "Flex" bus, and this bus may also be taken by older students and paid for as an "occasional rider" on a space-available basis.

An additional bus service (called the Activities or "Late" Bus) is available to students in Grades 6 through 12 who remain on campus in organized after-school activities or working with a teacher. It departs campus at approximately 17h45. This bus does not provide personalized service and drops students at drop-off points along the linha (the train line from Cascais to Algés) or to a central drop-off point in Lisbon. The Late Bus does not run every day of the year and any student wishing to use this service must sign up no later than 13h00 on the day he/she needs it.
