Character Counts! is celebrated at CAISL for at least 10 years. This educational program focus on the six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Citizenship and Caring; and is embedded in every curricular area. During the October international celebrating week, students wear the colors that represent the different pillars, learn about each one and role play situations/behaviors or qualities we look to model for, and nurture in our students. This year was a success and many students and teachers got involved in the celebrations. On Caring day and during the Open Mic session, the Middle School Community service Club held a bake sale and raised awareness for the Liga Portuguesa Contra o Cancro.
