The 2017 Fine Arts Festival was a true show of talent, bringing together students and their families for an afternoon of music, drama and art.
3rd and 4th graders opened the show with an amazing marimba performance. Their hard work rehearsing and focus during the performance was evident and rewarded by a warm applause.
Grade 5, Middle and High school orchestras played for a large audience in the cafeteria, with 5th graders performing a musical story and the older orchestras playing classic and jazz compositions and surprising teachers and parents with their musical talent.
Before the theater performances, there was still time for art viewing. This year, Elementary and Secondary Art did a collaborative project that covered the whole art gallery, making it look like a colorful rain forest.
Drama presented three original plays, written, produced and performed by HS Drama and Scene Studies classes. With very unique stories and sets, these short plays gathered an enthusiastic cheer.
Ending the festival on a high note, CAISL Choirs sang beautifully, with a particular moving performance of "There has to be a Song" (Combined Choir).
Thank you to all teachers and students for their hard work preparing this wonderful afternoon and to the Parent Support Group for the delicious bake sale.
