The 23rd edition of IMUN (Iberian Model United Nations) took place between 9 and 11 of November, with the participation of almost 400 students from 22 schools from 10 different countries.
On November 3rd, the Parent Support Group organized a 'completely sold out' Thanksgiving Dinner. Although scheduled to be a few weeks earlier than the American Thanksgiving, it was also planned to be a few weeks later than the Canadian, ceasing the opportunity to celebrate both.
Each year, a group of science educators from the NESA (Near East South Asia) Virtual Science Fair holds their NVSF training session at a different international school, and this year we were fortunate to be part of it at CAISL.
On November 3rd, CAISL Varsity Girls Volleyball team flew to Valencia to participate in their first Iberian Tournament.
During the month of October, the Elementary Community Service Club hosted a mouth-watering Halloween Bake Sale. On the morning of the 30th of October, the elementary upper atrium was flooded with the aromas of Halloween-inspired cakes, cupcakes, and decadent sweets.
Character Counts! is an educational program that focus on the six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Citizenship and Caring. During the October international celebrating week that started on October 16, students its colors.
On the evening of October 31st, CAISL's theater was the stage of a fantastic talent show.
Halloween was celebrated by the Elementary School with the traditional haunted house and a parade full of little monsters, witches and ghosts.
Four CAISL seniors, Matilde A., Andrea B., Antonio B. and Miguel D. attended the American Club Lunch in Lisbon Tuesday, October 31 where US Ambassador to Portugal George E. Glass spoke.
CAISL hosted the European Sports Conference tournament for the first time, involving ten Varsity Girls Soccer teams from six different countries.
World Surf Resort, Ericeira, was the chosen location for this year's Middle School camping adventure. Although students remained firmly on dry land throughout, they did get to visit three different local beaches in the pursuit of team-building, bonding and creativity.
Rosemary Rigoletti (Davis), a former AISL teacher (1985-87), came to visit us with her husband, Jack, on October 2nd. When they decided to visit Portugal, Rosemary simply had to revisit "her" school.
September 29th, 2017 marked the 14th consecutive year the students of the high school choir traveled north for the annual fall retreat.
College Day 2017 at CAISL occurred with all of the seniors and juniors attending an intensive and busy workshop type schedule in order to help them on their path towards tertiary education.
This year, the Welcome Back Picnic was run by the Parent Support Group (PSG)who tried to enhance meeting opportunities and provide the best experience to all the participants.
Grades 9 and 10 enjoyed picture-perfect weather for CAISL's annual Lisbon Scavenger Hunt on Friday, September 22nd.
On September 15th, in the theater, CAISL celebrated the outstanding reading achievements of our students, teachers and parents who participated in our Summer Reading Program.
During the summer a few students had the opportunity to talk to former NASA astronaut Daniel Tani.
EC 3/4 and Kindergarten classes did their last Informances of the year on Wednesday, June 14th.
On June 6th, CAISL hosted its first spring Middle School Musical Theater Showcase, where students had a chance to show the singing, music and acting skills they learned from this elective.
CAISL will be closed from July 24 through August 11, except for the Admissions Office which will be open all summer.
This Saturday, June 3rd, CAISL's senior class of 48 members celebrated its graduation in a heartwarming ceremony.
The 2017 Fine Arts Festival was a true show of talent, bringing together students and their families for an afternoon of music, drama and art.
On Saturday, May 27th, CAISL participated on the FIRST LEGO LEAGUE'2017 with a team of Middle School students.
On May 24th, Seniors and Teachers got together for the traditional luncheon, which more than sharing a meal, is an opportunity to seat together and share experiences and memories before graduation.
After months of planning, auditions, and exchanges with the TEDx organizers, the event finally came to fruition.
CAISL had over 150 athletes participating in this year's Spring Sports festival. The weather was perfect for playing everyone was excited.
All the way in Lloret de Mar, Spain, AMAC 2017 was held, and both CAISL Soccer teams thrived.
On April 19th, CAISL hosted a very special event: the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony, bringing senior and new members of this organization together.
Proud 1st and 2nd graders took to the stage on Tuesday, March 28th, to perform their musical finale for Hooked on Books.
