And We're Off! CAISL Marks the Start of Construction with Official Groundbreaking Ceremony
|
For a few hours on the morning of Friday, January 8, the rain stopped, the wind died down and the sun came out. This was a fantastic setting for CAISL’s long-awaited Groundbreaking Ceremony to mark the start of construction on Phase II of the Campus Completion Project. Beneath a sprawling tent, CAISL marked the occasion with a performance by CAISL’s popular Samba Band, the song "Ready to Go" by CAISL students, and speeches by long-time CAISL friends and supporters. Afterwards everyone stepped outside and onto the construction site, for the actual breaking of ground. Eleven designated “ground-breakers” as well as the five speakers and a trustee donned hardhats and dug shovels into the dirt as CAISL Director, Blannie Curtis declared the official start of construction. The new facilities are to include: a new Gymnasium & Locker Rooms, Fine Arts Theater & Music Rooms, Cafeteria, Snackbar, Soccer Fields, Basketball Courts, and much more!
