18th Annual IMUN Conference:

November 8-10, 2012

Welcome to the IMUN website! Bem-vindos ao site do IMUN!

CAISL strives to foster in its students the leadership skills, variety of perspective, and self-confidence to work cooperatively with others to bring about positive change.   Model United Nations provides the forum for students to develop these skills and to grow into the global leaders of tomorrow.

CAISL’s active MUN program extends throughout the Secondary School.  Debate and world issues are integrated in the Middle School curriculum and culminate in the Spring held Junior MUN Conference. MUN benchmarks are embeded into the 9th and 10th curricula and debate is practised throughtout Grades 9-12th.  Each November, CAISL welcomes over 300 students from schools around the world for the Iberian Model United Nations (IMUN) conference. During the conference students spend two-and-a-half days lobbying, debating, merging resolutions and developing leadership and negotiation skills. The High School MUNers also participate in other MUN conferences during the year including one in The Hague in January, one in Porto in April, and the Junior Model United Nations (JMUN) conference hosted by CAISL Middle School students in the spring. At JMUN the focus is on the Middle School delegates, but High School MUN veterans are involved as Committee Chairs, and Grade 5 students get their first exposure to MUN by playing the role of conference reporters.

Please see the links in the sidebar of this page for more IMUN information.
