Thank you for visiting the admissions pages online.  CAISL practices the American philosophy of education, focusing on celebrating children’s strengths while helping them overcome their difficulties.  The only American school in Portugal, CAISL blends the best from the United States model of education with that from a variety of national systems.  All classes place a premium on communicating effectively and on developing skills that help students become life-long learners. 

CAISL is composed of four schools within one campus.  Early Childhood (3, 4, and 5 year olds), the Elementary School (Grades 1-5), Middle School (Grades 6,7,and 8) and High School (Grades 9-12).  Current enrollment is 550.

To start the application process, please submit to the Admissions Office:

1. CAISL Application Form. Please ensure that the form is fully completed and signed. Incomplete applications may delay the enrollment process.
2. Official School Transcripts for the past three academic years. (Unofficial records such as parent copies of report cards are acceptable for initial review but original or PDF copies of official transcripts must be provided within 30 days of enrollment).
3. Health History Form if you are applying within 6 months of the proposed start date (see below).

Note: There are three pages of health forms that are required prior to the first day of school for all newly enrolling students: Health History, Immunization Certificate and Student Health Examination. These records must be dated no earlier than six months prior to the first day of school. For copies of these forms, please follow the link below. If you are applying within 6 months of the proposed start date, please submit the Health History form with the CAISL Application Form.
