Farewell Class of 2010!
The Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2010 took place at the Hotel Palacio on May 30, 2010. Friends, faculty and family were on hand as the 27 graduates received their diplomas in a special ceremony that included awards, entertainment, and words of wisdom from keynote speaker, the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal, Allan J. Katz. Awards were presented to top students in a variety of areas and, for a personal touch, each student was addressed by one special teacher before accepting his/her diploma. While students poked fun at themselves in two entertaining sketches, many tears were shed as well during the heartfelt ‘thank you’ and ‘goodbye’ speeches. The CAISL Handbell Choir once again provided lovely music for the processional and recessional at the beginning and end of the program, and the High School Choir contributed with meaningful songs that served as a fitting backdrop for the send off.
