Drama 'Mousetrap' Production Takes Audience on Murder-Mystery Tour
On April 23rd the High School drama class presented Agatha Christie’s, The Mousetrap, the longest running play in history. The students were fortunate to showcase their work on the respectable stage of Teatro Gil Vicente in Cascais.
The play is set in the 1950s which means that the production crew had to pay close attention to set design, wardrobe, and props. The crew was committed to transforming the stage into a beautiful, old manor house and to providing the actors with props that resembled the 1950s era.
The murder mystery lives off strong characters and fast-paced dialogue. Because the play is long (two hours), and has little action, our actors were put to the test with the deliverance of lines and emotion. Accompanied by the sound and light crew, they created a mood of tension and enigma which kept the audience involved throughout the entire performance. Bravo!
