There was plenty to see at the Elementary and Middle School Science Fairs on Thursday, April 29, 2010 and the array of student work, projects and investigations was truly impressive. On the Elementary side, students and parents participated in heated competitions of gumdrop tower building, rocket construction and launching, and egg- drop contraptions. It was fun to see how competitive our teams were, and congratulations to our winners and to all who took part. Students were also eager to share their science projects with friends and family – everything from erupting volcanoes and dinosaur research to animal habitats and even electricity conducted through oranges! It certainly inspires our students when they have these opportunities to share their work with others. Special thanks to Ms. Tina Centurio and to all the elementary faculty who took part.
Hovercrafts, impossibly tall towers, ecological park management plans and hydrolysis apparatus took over the Secondary School on Thursday as CAISL’s Middle School students demonstrated their investigations. Congratulations to Zherui Ye, Martim Campos de Oliveira, João Resina de Almeida and Elena Mueller, our grade 7 winners. Teresa Hipólito, Ben Dyals, Tarik Mishlawi, Philip Lu and Sofia Lupi Caetano took top prize in grade 8. Congratulations to all of grade 6 for their fantastic simulations of the R.U. Green National Park. Special thanks to Mr. Neil Greig and Tom Guiton for their support and guidance.
