International Week at CAISL
CAISL celebrated International Week from April 19-23, 2010 with a variety of fun, educational, tasty, (and of course international) activities for all. Elementary students brought in objects from home (and from around the world) for a fabulous Mystery Museum that had students guessing where the curious artifacts were from. 3rd, 4th and 5th graders performed pieces of music from around the world for each other in a special assembly, and art students painted Russian nesting dolls with their own cultures and creative ideas tucked inside. On the Secondary side, the NHS students sponsored an International Knowledge competition, the Middle School Student Council organized an exhibit of international artifacts, and world music was featured at lunchtime breaks. On Friday, students were invited to come to school in the local dress of their country and the CAISL PTO sponsored a very successful “Taste of CAISL” spread of foods from around the world. Thank you to all the parents who helped organize the event and prepared the fabulous food. It was an impressive display of many of CAISL’s 36 different nationalities!
